“Time is fast running out on President Goodluck Jonathan. He - TopicsExpress

“Time is fast running out on President Goodluck Jonathan. He could still become a hero if he adopts the strategy of stooping to conquer. This is a very unpopular honorable path, which most leaders will not want to take.” The above was the prophecy of the General Overseer of the Abundant Life Evangel Mission (ALEM), Port Harcourt, Apostle Eugene Ogu. He told Saturday Independent that there was a dark cloud hovering over the President as the nation begins the countdown to the 2015 general elections. Ogu hinted that the only way out of the impending doom that awaits both the President and his PDP is Jonathan humbling himself enough to carry out a true and sincere reconciliation among aggrieved Nigerians including those in his political party. He urged the President to realise that some of the actions and inactions that have been taken on his behalf by his subordinates across the country were not done in good faith but out of malice, adding that such actions were not taken for the betterment of the party or nation. “Across the country now and in the realm of the spirit, there is a gathering storm against the leadership of this country and the ruling party which a simple, honest and sincere reconciliation can quell.” Ogu reminded that leadership is from God, which should be aimed at bettering the lots of the people, saying that “when the people cry out and those in authority fail to hearken to their cry, their tears will by-pass such leadership and go to God direct. When this happens, God will dismantle the structure and set up another one. “If you look across the country today, there are fear, threat, insecurity and tension. These is God’s handwriting on the wall for the leaders of this country to urgently and truthfully resolve all the lingering political crises in Nigeria. “Such a resolution requires give and take. The time to do this is now, as there will be an unbelievable stirring of revolt and resistance that will dismantle parties and organisations and is capable of setting this country many years backward,” he said. The cleric called on all well meaning Nigerians to, as a matter of urgency, do all they can to convince the President on the need for an urgent reconciliation among aggrieved Nigerians. “Statesmen, elders and stakeholders in this country should once again do all they can to help the President to realise the urgency of honest and true reconciliation,” he urged. He reminded the President that the major reason God gave him power was to impact on the people by providing them with the needed basic infrastructure that will boost their standard of living. He said: “Jonathan should develop Bayelsa State and give a face-lift to the state capital, Yenagoa. He should also complete the Yenagoa Airport which the late President Umaru Yar’Adua started before he died. There may be no other opportunity than now. “The east/west road must also be taken care of before the time runs out. He may not have that opportunity again. God made him a president so that he can address certain sensitive issues. He must do those things before it is too late for him”. The fiery cleric, who predicted that Amaechi would become a governor and many other accurate predictions to his credit, said if God elects that Jonathan will win a second term, no amount of opposition can stop him. “But if God says no, then there is no amount of intimidation that can help him win. The place of Nigeria in the plan of God should not be undermined,” he said.
