Time to set the record straight... As many of you know, a situation came up in Tampa between Joey and myself which caused me to move back home. Joey joined a band named Protocol a couple months back. Since beginning of his involvement with them, he has tried to get the band to involve me as well. His purpose was to get me involved in the band so that he could step down at some point. Respectfully. During the first month of me playing with them, the original members made it known to me that they preferred my playing style over Joeys, strictly because I excel with that specific genre of music. (I.E. Journey, Def Leopard, Bon Jovi, Joan Jett, AC/DC, SRV...essentially, rock n roll and blues in general) Instead of keeping two guitarists, they hinted at the fact that they would much rather have just one. And they told me that they preferred if it was me. I then told them that if that was the case, they would have to look for another guitarist, due to the fact that I would not continue without Joey in the band. When they finally approached myself and Joey about only using one guitarist for a specific show (LAST NIGHT) Joey informed them that he would no longer be playing with them. I then let them know that LAST NIGHT would be my last show with them, and that they had a week to find another guitarist before their next shows. Joey saw the bands act of choosing me over him as us CONSPIRING against him. And as a result, gave me 24 hours to find somewhere else to live in Tampa. Unfortunately, neither myself not my girlfriend were in a financially stable enough place that would allow me to stay in Tampa. Hence: my return to Pensacola. All this was decided in confusion and assumption of my loyalty. I have no need to plead with people to take my side, because EVERY person I have worked with in this industry knows level of professionalism and maturity. This is a tough business. And egos and feelings get hurt. No hard feelings on my part, I respect the decision he made despite the conditions that the decision were made under. But will never forget the hospitality Joey and Janie shared with me by opening up their home to me. Nor will I forget the guidance I received from him in this business. I am pleased to say I have many shows scheduled this week with a few different acts. Dates will be posted soon. Thank you for your support and the time you took to read this.
