Donald Craig OC NAACP President Santa Ana Peace March, Santa Ana, CA Saturday, August 17, 9am The Faith Community of Orange County invites you to join the Peace March West Coast Christian Tabernacle and Christ Our Redeemer AME Church in partnership with the Orange County Interdenominational Alliance, Pico, and other community organizing groups are hosting a community peace march, Saturday, August 17, 2013, 9am , beginning at Santa Ana VALLEY High School, 1801 South Greenville St., Santa Ana, CA and ending at 700 Townsend Street, Santa Ana. Rev. Ariel Meza, Chairman says “It’s time for the church to take back our community from unnecessary violence and death.” Santa Ana, CA has experienced a one hundred percent increase of fatal killings in 2013. Rev. Mark Whitlock, Jr. Senior pastor of COR Church, Irvine says, “All are welcome to attend this historic event in Santa Ana”. This is the first time in the history of Orange County that African American and Hispanic American church leaders are marching together to end violence in Santa Ana. The purpose of the Santa Ana Peace March is to establish a stronger community policing presence in Santa Ana by church and community leaders. The Santa Ana Peace March will end in a community peace rally at 700 Townsend Street, Santa Ana, CA at 10:30am. Several public officials, church and community leaders are scheduled to speak.
