Time to test the power of facebook. A strange piece of Long Island Rock n Roll history, fan mail addressed to the legendary Vanilla Fudge from 1969-70. They often played at the Action House in the late Sixties, and their manager the club impresario Phil Basile had an office across the street on the corner of Austin Blvd. & Carolina Ave. He ran Breakout Management and Concerts East out of there. He actually produced Led Zeppelins first East Coast tour when they opened for the Fudge. Well some 44 years ago, my friend Mitch Nappi, an 11-year old stamp collector at the time went dumpster diving at the office when he saw a bunch of unopened fan mail from all over the globe. He still has some of the envelopes, many unopened. So if anyone knows how to reach Tim Bogert, Carmine Appice, Mark Stein, or Vince Martell we would like to get these letters in their hands. Maybe some now 60 year old German Vanilla Fudge fan can finally get his autographed picture of the band, lol. With Lou Carrollo, Julius Manno, Rich Thiel, Richard Sirgiovanni, Barbara Wiesenberg, Al Canonico, Debra Bonomo Michaels, Brian Schulte, Richard Thomas Deyo.
