Timmy Frazier’s favorite sport is powerlifting, so it’s no surprise that his favorite comic book character is the Hulk — the large, green superhero with bulging muscles and superhuman strength. Lifting is one of my favorite things to do. I never stop doing powerlifting, Timmy, 18, said. Timmy, who has Down syndrome, competes annually in the Special Olympics. He’ll participate in a regional competition in Cheyenne at the end of April, followed by the State Games in Laramie in early May. His Special Olympics participation won’t end there. This summer, he’ll be one of three students from Wyoming to attend a national leadership conference to learn about expanding in Laramie a program called Project Unify. Project Unify is an arm of Special Olympics in which individuals with and without intellectual disabilities compete together.
