Tinubu in London; Addresses House of Commons Today tinubu Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, The National Leader, ACN at The US Democratic Convention. Former Governor of Lagos state and chieftain of the opposition All People’s Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu will deliver a lecture on “Leadership, national development and the people” at the fifth series of the African Partnership Development Conference at the British House of Commons today. Another APC chieftain and former head of state Muhammadu Buhari delivered a similar lecture on “Nigeria: Stable democracy and economic development” at the fourth series of the conference held at the same venue earlier in March. Today’s conference at the Grand Committee Room of the House of Parliament is hosted by David Lamy, a Member of Parliament (MP) representing Tottenham, North London. He will be joined by Ivan Lewis, a fellow MP and Shadow Secretary for International Development. The African Partnership Development (APD), organisers of the conference, had in a statement disclosed that there was “a surge in the number of people” wishing to attend the conference, and pledged that “there will be quality debates and viable outcomes for the future of Africa, and Nigeria in particular.” Mr Tunde Alabi of APD said that “we are focused on continuously creating series of engagements that will promote good government and sustainable growth without any political affiliation and or statements.” “We are very happy at the support we have received from everybody both from the UK and Africa since the announcement of the conference,” he said.
