Tip from P.T #28: Cardio for the right reasons! Cardiovascular training is by far the most popular form of exercise. For someone in the gym, Cardio Should be used as a little add on to weight/ strength training. Either in the form of HIIT or Plyometrics. Is cardio the way to a ripped body? well, it can be! BUT one must weight train! Cardio will help lose weight, but it WILL NOT recomp your body nearly as well as Compound lifting and nutrition. It will make you a smaller version of what you already are, that can be give or take muscle mass. Why do I do it? Because I enjoy it! :D From Distance to HIIT, However, It will never substitute good hard and heavy weight training! The other reason is that although weight training works your skeletal muscular systems well, it does not work your cardiac muscle AS MUCH as some HIIT. The heart is the most important muscle in the body!
