Tip of the day for FIO girls..... If you wonder why you arent more successful in life, this is for you. Sense of Urgency- Google it. Define it. Understand it. Practice it. Make it your standard in your job. Yes, even if you work at Maccas or bag groceries at the local supermarket. Heres how it works: when you have a job to do, you execute with a sense of urgency. Not just to be fast, because half assed wont do. But do it fast and with accuracy. Do it like you are there to do it and that you take pride in doing it well. When a customer approaches, act like you care to get to them quickly. No. No you dont need to finish your story about your date late night to the other cashier (who, consequently, should also be displaying a sense of urgency to get to her customers). No, you do not take your sweet time changing receipt paper while pretending they have not been standing there for the last 7 minutes waiting on you to acknowledge them. No, you dont move at a snails pace to get their items bagged when you see the line is 9 carts deep. No, the customer should not have to help you bag when there are 3 of you already attempting to do the job (in between your regaling tales of Modern Warfare). Get. Shit. Done. Be content in your mediocre station in life if you will, thats fine but dont begrudge those of us who have busted ass with a sense of urgency since an early age.... who excel in life because of it. Mediocrity sucks. :) :) I wish you an outstanding and motivated Thursday with more posts on post-comp blues, dietary approaches to comp, moderation/abstination, before and after photos coming up in the next week.
