Tis the Season of Christmas 2014 Tis The Season events Sparta celebrates Christmas in an old fashioned style, with a month full of memories and experiences for the whole family. Check out the dates below to see when Santa will be in town taking visitors at his house, or the details of the Shop Sparta Event festivities which include trolley rides and fantastic sales! Sparta is full of tradition, which includes our traditional Christmas events through town. These events are hosted and sponsored by the Sparta Downtown Development Authority and the Sparta Chamber of Commerce, making Sparta truly “What a Neighborhood Should Be.” 2014 Christmas Events: Sun. Nov. 16 5 - 9 pm Buck Pole hosted by Roger’s Hardware! Details at Roger’s Hardware, 1st place prize includes Shoulder Mount ($500 value!) Fri. Nov. 21 5-8 pm Shop Sparta Event! Sparta merchants open late for Christmas shopping! Free Horse & Trolley Rides, free gift wrapping at ChoiceOne Bank, try roasted chestnuts, take a photo with Santas Reindeer, and more! Vendors with additional gifts selections located in Maddie LaRoues downtown (126 E. Division)! Official Christmas Tree Lighting by Santa at 6:00 pm! From 5-8 pm in Downtown Sparta on Nov. 21: Shop Sparta Sales & Deals going on throughout Sparta! Crafts & Vendors located in merchant buildings downtown! Santa will be strolling the streets giving out glow sticks! Horse Drawn Trolley—Free Rides! Free Gift Wrapping Service at ChoiceOne Bank Taste a free roasted chestnut and learn about the tradition of Roasted Chestnuts with Bruce!(Read Bruce’s Chestnut Story HERE) Sparta United Methodist Church Carolers will be strolling around! Boy Scout Troop 280 serving Hot Chocolate! Sun. Nov 23 6 pm Community Thanksgiving Service at Holy Family Church, All are welcome! Thurs. Nov. 27 9 am Turkey Trot in Sparta.
