Title: Dragon Princess Submitted by: Anonymous Sorry for the grammar and if things dont make sense. Im just retelling my friends experience that he told me, and my experience as a mexican I found it interesting. To make it less confusing, Ill start off talking about his dream. In junior year, Tou (which well call him) was in this program where twice a week, hell go on a field trip to learn about agriculture and the environment. A kayaking trip and an upcoming field trip to the Fish Hatchery (In Fresno!) was something he was looking forward to. The day came and Tou didnt go. I remember sitting in a group next to Tou in second period, English 3, and his friend asked him, Why didnt you go to your field trip? You were talking about how you were gonna leave class and not do this essay. Tou replied, I wanted to go, but I had a dream that I was at lost lake, and I was swimming with you guys. Then a dragon princess came out and told me that I was a good swimmer and shed rather marry me than her own kind since even I swam better than the dragon boys. Hearing this, he joked and wen,t My boy was going to get some! Tou joked and went, Yeah, an ugly guy like me getting a dragon girl would be nice! He told me that all Dragon people are super good looking. Then he ruined it by saying, If the dragon princess would have wanted to marry me, she would have to take my soul, and to do that means she would have to drown me. Now that was a WTF moment. Not being Hmong, I didnt really know about Dragon lore. Flash forward to this year, we all graduated as Class Of 2014. Summer came, up and we all went to Pismo. The weather was nice and everything. Totally beats the hot Fresno weather we had been having. When we got there, we all went straight to go swimming. Tou only stayed at the shore and let the waves touch his feet. I told him to come swim because he was a great swimmer. When I went to the gym and he tag along, all he did was swim, and he can stay underwater for a while. I was surprised at him not wanting to swim. Then our friend Hlee (Fake name) told me not to bother Tou and just let him stay over there. Tou looked pretty bored because seeing how he loved swimming but couldnt come swim, it sucked, and he paid for most of the gas, so we could come here. We were all swimming, and we occasionally went back to shore to keep Tou company. Then Tou started looking for seashells and the little sand crabs. Our other friend, Jerry (Fake Name) pointed out, Ey, look Tou is flirting with a girl. We all looked and the girl was 10! She was asian too. Im not sure if she was Hmong, but she was beautiful in her simple one piece and short. I was checking her out, and I noticed she had a nice turquoise and jade bracelet on. We went back to and saw that they were talking. It didnt seem like Tou was flirting. She asked, How come you arent swimming with all your friends? You look bored. Tou lied, Oh, I dont know how to swim. The girl flirted back, Oh, I can teach you. Now two of our friends and I were forcing Tou to go swim with her, but Hlee and Leng (Fake Name) telling Tou to stay and implying that he really cant swim. The girl said shed teach Tou. Then Hlee went, Thats a nice bracelet you have there. Can I see it? The girl let Hlee looked. Then Hlee went, Oh, can I wear it and see how it looks on me? The girl was hesitant, and Leng went Yeah, a turquoise and jade bracelet. Thats unique. Then the girl was all flustered and went, Well I think my friends are looking for me. I have to go. Bye. Nice meeting all of you guys. We all got done swimming and changed out. By this time, it was 3, and we walked on the pier. What we noticed was that the waves got bigger as we went further on the pier. Even the surfer (who seemed like a native to Pismo) shouted, Yeah, why cant we always have waves like this? The waves did look big and look like they were trying to climb up the pier. We looked around pismo, ate at Dennys, then drove back. In the car ride, we were all talking, and then Jerry brought up the girl again. He said, Damn! My boy Tou almost got a girl today. Tou laughed and replied, Say she wasnt Ariel or my Dragon Princess. Leng jumped in and said, Its not good to talk about stuff like that, and he was referring to dragons. Jerry brushed it off and went, Its ok. We arent by any water so we wont get hurt I was curious by what he meant. Hlee replied, Yeah, but at the beach it wasnt. Something bad could have happen to Tou. And we all asked What? Hlee typed on her phone That girl is not human. She was a dragon. She wanted Tou thats why she kept on trying to pull Tou in. I asked, Wtf? How would you know shes that? She typed, I knew she was a dragon because my third eye saw through it. Shes very beautiful. Jerry said, Puas yog mas? Then Hlee spoke, Yeah, I knew she was that because who would wear a bracelet when they want to go swimming in the ocean? The salt water would had mess it up. Plus when I told her to take off her bracelet for me, she was scared because if she did, her real image would have shown. And its a good thing Leng had his bracelet. (It was this copper bracelet where it looked like it was coiled around each other.) When she saw that, she gave up and left. That was a crazy experience I had with the supernatural. And when I think about it, when Tou was collecting seashells with her, he found alot of pretty ones but he left them there. When we go to the gym, Tou still swims but when some guys and I were going to go fishing, Tou decided to stay home. I hope my friend Tou does marry a girl as beautiful as her because she is pretty, but I think he wont meet her again since Ive seen Tou wearing two of those string bracelet, and if we ever go to natural water stuff like lakes, he doesnt go far, only in pools. Fascinating story to me, and sorry if it was long and confusing. Reviewed and posted by PSV
