Distinguishing labels such as rank or education levels do have their place to understand experience and uphold a system that is based on incentive, and folks who attain them through hard work usually dont need a title to be effective. I am very wary of people whos self identity is wrapped up in rank or titles like PhD. Its just hubris, arrogance, and maybe a sign of personal security issues to introduce yourself as such.
