To All Iowa County Fire & EMS: As you may recall I sent out the e-mail message below on July 2nd. Since that time we have converted PS1LAW1 and PS2FIRE1 hybrid channels from analog to digital. This conversion has eliminated 1 major issue we were having with the dispatch consoles. We then brought PS1LAW2 hybrid back on line and monitored it for a few days for interference issues. That channel seems to be working fine. Last week the PS2FIRE2 hybrid channel was brought back on line and we have since been experiencing numerous bouts of interference. We will likely be changing the PL tone on this channel sometime during the next couple of days. Doing this will render the channel unusable in your radios until reprogramming takes place. If you need to use an analog repeater channel you will need to use “Gateway”. Once an appropriate PL tone has been determined and the interference issue is stopped, the northern and southern departments will be reprogrammed 1st because of their dependence on the hybrid system. IOFIRE2 Talkgroup will still function as normal. Thank You for your patience while we remedy these issues. Keith Hurlbert, Director Iowa County Emergency Management __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ In an effort to increase the coverage of the hybrid channels and eliminate interference issues, we instituted a change to in the communications system today. PS1LAW1 and PS2FIRE1 hybrid channels are now digital. They will not be usable to you until we change the programming on your radios. Use GATEWAY as your optional channel for communications for now. All other hybrid channels have been shut down due to interference issues that have become troublesome over the last few months. We will be in contact with you over the next week to make arrangements for reprogramming radios. Thank You, Keith Hurlbert Iowa County Emergency Management Office 608-935-0329
