To All : One of our Officers was investigating a cruelty complaint in Morristown (Morris County) and when being escorted on to the property by the owner the dog suddenly approached and snapped at and bit our Officer in the lower leg. Our Officer reacted properly by using verbal commands and creating distance from the dog. No use of force was used only verbal commands.Officers injury was minor and the dog retreated, reports made of the bite, emergency medical received by our Officer. Animal interactions both positive and negative are part of our job. Animals can sometimes be unpredictable and this incident in know way means that the involved dog is a bad dog or vicious, our Officer was on the dogs property. I am proud of our Officers handling of this incident. Capt
