Whether you are a first-time freshman or a returning student, we want to make sure that we provide you with important information regarding the technical support resources that are available to assist you throughout the semester: IT HELP DESK If you should encounter any technical issues, please do not hesitate to contact the IT Help Desk by email, phone, fax or in person. BCC Resources: Your BCC user id and password is used to access your BCC Student Email, OSSES, wireless connectivity and to log into the computers on campus. BCC STUDENT EMAIL: We invite you to become familiar with your BCC Student Email account, Microsoft Office 365. Microsoft Office 365 Student Email is one of the college’s core internal and external communication methods. When you enroll at BCC for the first time, a BCC Student Email account is automatically generated for you. It is highly recommended that you login to your Microsoft Office 365 Student Email account frequently to review important information sent by the college’s faculty, staff, and administrative offices, some of which might be time sensitive. To use your Microsoft Office 365 Student Email account, visit bcc.cuny.edu/email. OSSES: OSSES stands for One Stop Shop Electronic Services. This Portal holds a collection of components that streamline the day-to-day academic and administrative operations providing you with information and services ranging from semester progress reports to bill printing, skills placements, BCC email account claiming and resetting, and much more. WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY: The Bronx Community College wireless network is available for all BCC students. The goal is to provide a functional wireless network to the college community. Any student is eligible to access the BCC‐WNET wireless network using his BCC user id and password. For additional information, please go to bcc.cuny.edu/BCC-Wireless-Network. ACADEMIC COMPUTING: With a number of computer facilities located through the campus, the Academic Computing staff welcomes all students to make maximum use of our facilities. The mission of our computer labs is to provide academic computing services to meet your instructional and research needs. We serve experts as well as novices. Pharos (Pay for Print) At the beginning of every semester, an initial amount of $35.00 for full-time students ($17.50 for part-time students) will be deposited into the BCC Card Print Management Fund of every matriculated student via his/her BCC ID Card. After the initial amount is depleted, students will then be able to add money to their accounts to allow them to print beyond initial amount of free prints. Any remaining balance for a semester will not carry over to the following semester. All student allocations are reset at the beginning of each semester. For more information, click here. STUDENT I.T. WORKSHOPS: We will be offering student technology workshops this semester. The workshops are FREE and available to all BCC students. If students are interested in attending, they must register online (using their BCC email address and password). CUNYFIRST: CUNYfirst, which stands for Fully Integrated Resources and Services Tool, is a suite of software that has replaced many of our aging computer systems in the areas of Student Administration, Finance and Human Resources. CUNYfirst gives you access to services such as providing all the information needed to register, search for classes, swap courses, see financial information, view your course history and pay your tuition payments online. CUNY PORTAL: The CUNY Portal is your gateway to accessing Blackboard course(s), Degreeworks, ePermit, discounts at the eMall, etc. The CUNY Portal makes it easier and faster to find what you need. If you need to reset your CUNY Portal username and password, visit cuny.edu. BLACKBOARD: Your online course(s) will be available when the instructor makes the course(s) available, usually by the first day of class. To access your Blackboard course(s), you must first log into the CUNY Portal and then click on the Blackboard link. If you should experience issues accessing your Blackboard online course(s), please contact the IT Help Desk. If you registered late or added new course(s) in the past few days, it may take 24 to 72 hours for your Blackboard courses to appear. ***HELPFUL LINKS*** We encourage you to visit the BCC website.
