To Alyssa, Austin, and Huntress. Food Battle 2013! MineQuest! Chapter 5 part 1: Dawns arrival Dawn woke up on her bed in the back of the flower shop. The building was medium-sized, using only the front as the shop. Dawn looked out her window to see the sun rising up. She got up, got dressed, and got ready for the day. Sunday. Her day off. The shop was always closed on Sundays. After getting ready, she decided she would go for a walk. Something drove her back to the hill- back to where Jane and Dawn first saw Steve. Dawn arrived at the hill quickly and looked out over the plains. The plains were beautiful this time of year. Springtime was when all the flowers were in bloom. Everything from roses to orchids to lilies. Truly a sight to see. Dawn looked at the palm of her hand. The guardian sign. It hadnt glowed ever since Jane left. Now it was a dark purple mark on her hand. She sat down under the shade of the center tree, and dozed off. Dawn woke with a start to hear someone yelling. It was nearly sunset. Dawn cursed herself for sleeping for so long, then put her attention back on the yell. It was a womans yell. Dawn looked at her sign and saw it glowing purple. It meant danger was near. Dawn started running towards the source of the yell to find a certainly unexpected sight. It was a pack of creepers chasing a woman. They were catching up. Hey! Dawn yelled, trying to tear the creepers attention away. They turned, and made eye-contact with her. This gave time for the woman to escape. The creepers started running towards Dawn. For the first time since she left, she realized that she left without her sword. The only thing she could do was run. She ran as fast as she could, hoping to outrun the monsters. Dawn suddenly remembered about the shop. If she could make it to the shop, she could get in, lock the doors, grab her equipment, and bolt out the back door. She forgot one thing, though. Dawn started dashing to the shop as fast as she could, and got there, and got there in record time. However, this was no time to think about records. She got in and bolted the front door, locking the creepers out. Dawn got to the back and started grabbing her armor when she heard an explosion. She didnt have to check to know what happened. The creepers were getting smarter. Thats when she heard a loud hiss coming from outside. She looked out the window to see a monster. Its body resembled that of a scorpion, was colored green, and its head was on its tail. From stories on TV Dawn immediately knew what it was. A mutant creeper. End of Chapter 5 part 1
