To FB and CL: Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Ollie Babcock. I am the Adoption Coordinator for Golden Acres Foal Rescue. I owe EVERY ONE OF YOU the Deepest APPOLOGIES! It has been brought to my attention that there has been a fallacious misunderstanding on my intentions with the horses I intend to bring back from the Eastern Washington Feed lots. The CRAIGSLIST add that has been brought to my attention was a horrid miscommunication via phone with my partner. I was entirely unaware it was even created. I apologize for not quickly clarifying this misunderstanding as I was in the Veterans Hospital (where there is no service) unaware of what was being said about me, my intentions, or the fact that I was blocked from so many sites. That is still no excuse for this kind of post. Let me clarify... I am making NO profit on these horses WHAT-SO-EVER. Ill be lucky if I break even. I understand anyone can go out and pay $100 to get a foal... But I am charging 300, not 400. My attempts to be proactive and assure that every foal has a forever home has been greatly reduced as has my reputation. What was not clear in my page is that these foals are not immediately available for adoption. I require a long, well prepared, and open process and plan between myself and any prospective owner. The horses that return with me will not be released to their new owners until the foal is successfully weaned, gained strength, weight, health and trust. I am taking upon myself emergency vet fees as well as specialty care. I am lining up potential permanent homes for these horses, not an I want a pretty fuzzy baby horse I can sell when It gets to big and wild for me homes. Given these circumstances, if you look into how much it will cost out of pocket to provide the care I plan to do for these babies, I hope my intentions are more concise. My concern is for the welfare of these horses. Those who know me, know this was my childhood dream. Those who do not know me will learn this about me. I will give, all I have to give, for a cause I believe in.
