To Imaginationz, a friend for all seasons. I have always wanted - TopicsExpress

To Imaginationz, a friend for all seasons. I have always wanted to write about you. Yes, I have. I wanted to write about your hard work, your doggedness, your commitment to quality service delivery, your magnanimity, your friendliness. I wanted to write about the numerous people you inspired, the many lives you touched, the many landmarks you created, the many families you gave hope to. I wanted to write about the brand you built from scratch, and how every young person wanted to be the next Imaginationz, the breathtaking decorations you did, the boundless energy you put in your work, the innumerable commendations you got, and the lofty dreams you had for your family. I wanted to write about your style, your smiles, your infectious personality, your larger-than-life image... I wanted to write about many things, but I never wanted to write a eulogy for you. No, I never wanted to write about your death. Alas! I find myself penning these lines, in tribute to friendship that felt more like brotherhood, in memory of a star dimmed at its prime, a candle extinguished at its brightest. How I wish that November had begun on the 2nd, instead of the 1st that brought with it this heart-rending news. Like all the people you touched, I will always remember you; not as a man who died young, no; but as a pace-setter, an epitome of the can-do spirit, and one of the biggest inspirations to the young people of my generation. Your stay on earth was brief by human reckoning, but many have lived three times your age and more and not had a fraction of the impact you had. You have left a good legacy for your wife, Otobong and your children, Braina and Benedict. They will grow in the knowledge that while you walked the earth, you were peerless in your chosen field of endeavor and an inspiration to many. May God console your family and all of us who feel this deep sense of loss. We will not forget the memories you gave, the good you did, and the dreams you kept alive. The single enduring memory that will remain permanently etched in my mind will be that of the ever-smiling, ever-cheerful, ever-lively Imaginationz. My family and I pray the Almighty God to grant you eternal repose. To live in the hearts of those who love you is not to die! Rest in Peace, my friend!
