To Our Loving Friends & Family, First, foremost, and as - TopicsExpress

To Our Loving Friends & Family, First, foremost, and as always, thank you for reaching out during this difficult time and voicing your concern. The many texts we have already received the last 24 hours not only show how much you care but definitely indicate how insanely fast information spreads via social media and texts. So, let me clear up a few things on Wades status before people start to get word that he might be pregnant (which is just simply not true. He IS pregnant and hes glowing). In all seriousness, Wade has been feeling pretty awful the last few days. After speaking to Neuro-oncology at Duke last night, we decided it was best to take him to the ER to check out some red flag symptoms. He received an MRI last night and we are in our own room now as they want to closely monitor him. We will not know if/when he can be discharged until the doctors here can give a good assessment of his MRI from yesterday with his post-op scans from a month ago (which they cannot do until the scans arrive from Duke). Then, there is the collaboration that takes place between the surgeons and oncologists from Semmes-Murphy and West Clinic. As always, there are many components involved, and while Id love to give a simple answer or update, there isnt one. The good news is that, while he is still in some pain and discomfort, he is feeling much better, looks much better, and is functioning much better than yesterday. We are still in our hospital room The only hard medical info we have right now is that, since the second post-op scan from Duke (about a month ago), the tumor has grown to about 6.2 cm. There is also significant edema and brain swelling which they believe is to be the cause of problems with vision, balance, headaches, confusion, and motor skills. If you have anymore info, then please let us know because Wade wants to get out of here! ;) Anyway, we just wanted to give a brief update since people have been bombarding with texts and calls inquiring about Wades health. I want to reiterate how THANKFUL we are to have so many caring, concerned friends and how BLESSED we are to have so many people pulling and praying for us. Without your support and prayers, we couldnt do this and truly believe that this is the only reason Wade is still here. People constantly ask what they can do to help. I will say what I always say which is that the best thing you can do is pray for Wade. Much Love, Bethany & Wade
