To, The CEO Karnataka Bangalore, Dear Sri Anil Kumar Jha ji, Aam Aadmi Party Karnataka is approaching you as you are the sentinel of the Constitution during the Model Code of Conduct. This is to bring to your kind notice that despite your office’s clear communications thro your Press Note permitting putting up a 4X3 banner at voter facilitation kiosks 200 mts from a polling booth, Police authorities all over Karnataka are violating it by pulling away all such AAP banners and putting AAP volunteers to needless harassment. (CEO Press note point # 9 : setting up elections booths by political parties/candidates) This is gross misuse of state machinery by the state itself against its own people whose rights are protected by the constitution and appropriately endorsed by your Press note. In light of your assurances, we urge your good offices in its present capacity as sentinel of constitution, to issue an urgent wireless message to all Police authorities across Karnataka to immediately refrain from this gross violation of citizens’ fundamental right in the interest of natural justice, free & fair elections.
