To all Dellas FB friends from her longtime partner Wendy: Della is in the hospital here in WA in the city of Pullayup. She had major heart failure last night about midnight (Sunday night), couldnt breathe. I called 911 and they got her to the hospital where they immediately put her on a breathing machine, then intubation and did an angiogram. She did not get stents at that time. She is now in ICU sedated with a breathing tube and a balloon pump helping her heart pump, but her heart is pumping by itself, the balloon pump just helps open arteries to get more blood to the organ. She is on what they all call life support. She is critical. She did have a heart attack within the last 12 or more hours with some cell damage and pulminary adema which accounted for the fluid in her lungs and her not being able to get a breath. She is on meds to get rid of the fluid. I have been with her all night and day until now and she is getting the best of care. She is not awake, although sometimes semi-conscious, due to the sedatives. The breathing tube will not be removed until tomorrow or the next day. She is getting a tiny bit better with every hour but its slow. She will be in the hospital for at least a week and they may put in stents when she is stronger. A bypass is too risky for her, so say two cardiologists. So they will treat her medically to the best of their ability. I have friends up here at the Washington Midsummer Ren. faire who are able to help me out with the booth for the next 2 weekends of the faire. I have a rental car for the next 2 weeks. I have a place for the RV for the next 2 weeks. I have money. So I am okay, but tired from no sleep. There is nothing more I can do but go often to be with her and just watch her rest. The hospital is about 10 miles from the site. It is called Good Samaritan Hospital in Pullayup. Ill try to keep everyone updated by posting on Dellas timeline on FB as I can.
