How about the fact that they were not only fighting soviets but also butchering the poles, tying murdered polish children to trees with barbed wire to scare off the rest of the Poles in the area. The US was waging soft war against Russia. Playing nice, building a nuclear shield supposedly to counter Irans threat but turned toward Russia. Anyone with half a brain understands that the final steps in the preparation for a future war would be getting Georgia and Ukraine in NATO, as they, especially Ukraine with its vast border with Russia, would serve as perfect launching platforms for an invasion. Not to speak of the installment of shields and nukes (pointed at Moscow) on their territories, The snatching of Ukraine would also have meant that Crimea would become a NATO naval base... Did you think the Russians were going to sit around and watch all this happen, especially letting Crimea, which is Russian land, stolen by Khrushchev, slip into NATO hands and be turned into a future launching point for an attack against them? As for law and agreements. NATO promised after the fall of the Soviet Union it wouldnt expand east toward the Russian borders. It lied. A deal was struck with Yanukovych at the end of February which was signed by western powers too. It was broken and Yanukovych chased out of the country. Thats called Coup détat. During the western invasion of Afghanistan, opium production skyrocketed. When were at Afghanistan, when the Soviets invaded it, they established schools, hospitals, women were teachers, nurses etc. Then the US backed taliban drove them out and returned Afghanistan to the stone age. The US invaded Iraq under false pretext, get hundreds of thousands of people killed, and now its total Chaos there. The US deposed Muammar Gaddafi in Libya. You can call him dictator all you want, but under him Libya had the highest living standard of any nation in Africa, and he was a proponent of creating a African Union in the image of the European Union. Now there is chaos in Libya, with factions and warlords fighting over territory and oil. The same thing is happening in Syria, only that Russia prevented the west from going all the way with their plan, for now. The spread of democracy only brought about the endless suffering of the people in these areas. Now its happening all over again. People with NAZI background that came to power by force are now sending the Ukranian army, along with private NAZI armies funded by oligarchs, to bomb, rape and drive away the people in south-eastern Ukraine that are not ready to be subjugated and assimilated.
