To all my FB friends and in particular those with an ear for music. You may have heard Bob Geldof promoting the new Band Aid 30 single with his pals with what was, at the time, a classic song in 1984. 30 years later, changing the lyrics and promoting it on X Factor seems fine but something sticks in my throat and bandwagon springs to mind rather than band aid. Here is a song recorded by great African musicians that we probably havent heard of and with lyrics that we may need subtitles for. But its a great song and deserves to be recognised for its authenticity and genuine feeling - I would rather listen to this than anything recorded by the celebrity pop stars that think theyve got a hard job...
