To all my Vernon Parish friends and family that will be affected by the Ft Polk land aquisition, remember this little quote from 2009? This is not like the Armys land acquisition days of the early 40s, said Brig. Gen. James C. Yarbrough, commander of Fort Polk and the Joint Readiness Training Center. The expansion of our training areas is an opportunity for everyone, and we are not going to force anyone off their land or out of their home. We will work together on this as a community for our mutual benefit. A lot changed since 2009. You would think that anyone not wanting to move should be able to use this little quote in legal action to keep your land. I think I would at least have to try. Also, when you google the land aquisition, you will find Mary Landrieus finger prints all over it. Remember that the next time you have a chance to vote her sorry tail out of office. I really am sorry yall are losing your land. Im not sure what I would do if I were in your shoes. Good luck if you decide to fight. I hope this helps.
