To all my WI friends. We have one school district that is seriously contemplating rejecting Common Core. They are within their authority to do so. I have another that is likely to follow the same path after I speak to them on July 15. Chairman of school bd is a friend, and he thinks we can get it done. That said, the more districts on this band wagon, the less lonely for the "pioneers." I think if as few as 3 districts state wide opted out, CC would come crashing down. So, do any of you know of districts or even individual school board members that would likely oppose CC openly? Challenge the state, which has already acknowledged authority of school boards to set curriculum by way of state law? PM me if you know of anyone or any board that may be sympathetic to this cause.
