To all of our community members who are heading home. Please be prepared for what you will find. This is an emotional time! Likely you will see a thick coat of mud in areas where water has receded. Remember that the mud you will find is highly contaminated. Please take appropriate precautions wearing personal protective equipment when working on clean up. All porous building materials such as flooring, drywall, baseboards and trim that has been impacted by ground water should be removed and discarded. I know it is always the first instinct to save things but remember that mold will grow if wet building materials are left in place and there are dangers related to the contaminated nature of the water.
