To all our family and friends...words cant describe how much your love, support and prayers are appreciated! As many know dad was diagnosed with stage IV cancer last August and had surgery in September with a very positive prognosis! He seemed to be doing very well post surgery, completed radiation, had his feeding tube removed and was eating! He recently (late May/early June) began to experience similar symptoms and started to spiral downward again! After three long weeks of various tests, doctors confirmed the worse news that his cancer not only was back but the tumor is large and high grade ( fast growing )! An attempt to do a biopsy and reinsert the feeding tube on June 19th, doctors were forced to put in a trac due to the size of his tumor! On Tuesday, July 1st, dad was given options that arent very promising and would not give him a very good quality of life leaving him feeling that his only option was to wait out his destiny (which doctors have given him two months)! The feeling and heartbreak of this is devastating and quite unbearable most days...for us and more importantly I believe for him as he has clearly stated he doesnt want to die and isnt ready to leave our physical world! Dad has agreed to a second opinion and we received the call that Sloan in NYC has reviewed his case and he has an appointment for July 21st! I am asking to please send him love, prayers, positive energy, strength and encouragement! No one fights alone and he wants to win! If you have time to drop him a card or a note please send it to him at Jr Thayer, P.O. Box 42, McLean, NY 13102, as I believe knowing he has people rooting for him will build strength and optimism for his visit to Sloan! Thank you in advance for taking a moment out of your day, whether you know him personally or through one of us talking about him...love to all, we make a difference in peoples life! Thanks
