To all our fans, given the turbulent political climate in Egypt and a new clamp-down on non profit organisations operating here, forcing them to register and pay funds to national authorities we have concerns. As we are a British small charity bringing assistance to equines in Sinai we do not fall under this requirement but unfortunately the government may not see it this way as they are sure to think with Dahab in our name that we are an Egyptian charity . Facebook is a platform which will be thoroughly investigated by national officials in search of any charitable activities taking place in Egypt; it has also created major problems for foreigners in Egypt based on misunderstandings of online discussions (we personally know of several people thrown into jail and then repatriated in recent times) . As such we have made the decision to protect our founders, volunteers and the continuance of our activities in the region by temporarily removing our page from Facebook.
