To all the “Business owners” on Facebook... You should become familiar with a word that is vital to the success of your business...PROFESSIONALISM(A large part of achieving recognition as a professional has to do with the way that you present yourself to others). The things that you post on your status and on the posts/statuses of others dictate whether potential customers/clients think you are a PROFESSIONAL. No matter what your business is- You should remain professional even when those around you are not. Seriously think about it FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF A BUSINESS OWNER...Does typing blatant profanity in your social media post make you feel like a beast? How can you type that and think it’s a good idea? Or do you just not realize potential customers/clients may be reading your posts? Why do you think it’s okay to bad mouth and tear down other people publicly? Do you think that your rudeness, profanity, and client/customer bad mouthing makes anyone want to work with you? Do you think potential clients see your posts and think, “Wow I want to work with him!”? I am not saying be the model of perfection when it comes to social media, because I am not. We’re all only human and we have feelings and make mistakes. However, I truly wonder if many of you realize how your derogatory behavior is negatively impacting your brand. Everything you post is a reflection of your own personal brand. Everything you post contributes to your reputation and the perception others have of you. It’s part of your branding. So …Is what you post building your brand, or tearing it down?
