To anyone who had to study Macbeth in school and just had no idea what all the fuss was about, watch House of Cards. To all drama/english teachers who have to introduce the text to your unenthusiastic class, watch House of Cards (even just one episode) To anyone who just enjoys good television. Good defined by clever, engaging, refreshing and relevant, watch House of Cards! This has been the ONLY Macbeth related thing Ive ever seen that works for me - and Im hooked. A scottish general (I dont know therefore I dont care) is told by some witches hes going to have power (yep, still dont care) and he and his wife do naughty things but then go crazy? (I understand why but I still DONT care) But on the other hand, Washington politics? (I understand a bit, so I can relate, and now im intrigued). They get burned and plot revenge? (yes this is interesting) They slowly suffer consequences? (oh, hot dayum this is good) Just watch House of Cards.
