To anyone who is interested in cognitively exploring the very weird and fuzzy fabric of existence and space–time at the smallest and most illogical level, watch this documentary on Quantum Mechanics. I realize Ill lose almost everyone here, but for the few, the proud, and the nerdy who are still reading, check this video out. Its quite clearly explained, visually appealing and, at just under an hour long, a great way to kick back, relax and let your mind travel down into the quantum systems which, though utterly illogical to human comprehension, are nonetheless proven to govern the most fundamental levels of being. Really cool topics covered in here, including: where Einstein just couldnt handle the truth; accomplished experimental teleportation of elementary particles by particle de- and reconstruction in place of physical travel; quantum computing exponentially revolutionizing the way in which binary code can be utilized to computationally solve equations; infinite parallel universe theories; the logically illegal yet mathematically proven fact that finite location does not really exist at the quantum level until you seek to observe it; and finally, quantum entanglement of particles across impossible distances without any observable physical connection, referred to in English as spooky action at a distance, referred to in German by a disbelieving Einstein as spukhafte Fernwirkung. The documentary leaves me fascinated by the field, and with a major question that remains unanswered. If Physics works to explain the mathematical governance of our level of existence, as well as, when labeled astrophysics, the laws of existence at the gigantically immense intergalactic level, why is it that it no longer works when we direct our curiosity downward? What is so special about small, and not about big, that small requires an entire new set of governing structures? Or is it, perhaps, that at a certain level of bigness that weve yet to comprehend, our current astrophysical laws, too, will be illogically defied? Probably most perplexing, where, oh where, is the physical transitionary point between quantum-level small and physics normal-sized, where the fabric of what is reality at the quantum level transitions into illegality at comparatively larger levels of existence? In reverse, at what exact unit of measurement does what we know to be mathematically true of our reality degrade into the illogical and the untrue? And what is reality like along that transitional point, where quantum approaches non-quantum?
