To arms to arms The Fascist is coming The Fascist is coming, and it is coming in the name of freedom. “ Called the freedom to work act” basically Right to Work just renamed to make it more pallatable. Our basic rights are being attacked and We are in the fight for our lives my Union Brothers and Sisters. We are not alone in this fight the entire American workforce is under attack. We have to stop trading our Democracy for commercialism and selling off our childrens future for a dollar today. Because, if thats the case there wont be any dollars for them tomorrow. We have to stand up to this commercialistic tyranny sweeping the land. If we dont stand up to Them for our rights today, nobody will be able to in the future. Once its gone its gone forever and “God help you”to get it back. Capitalism is an economic system in which trade, industry and the means of production are controlled by private owners with the goal of making profits in a market economy. Central characteristics of capitalism include capital accumulation, competitive markets and wage labor. In a capitalist economy, the parties to a transaction typically determine the prices at which assets, goods, and services are exchanged. Communism is an advocacy of a classless society in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party. Commercialism is the application of both manufacturing and consumption towards personal usage, or the practices, methods, aims, and spirit of free enterprise geared toward generating profit. Commercialism can also be used in a negative connotation to refer to the possibility within open-market capitalism to exploit objects, people, or the environment for private gain for the purpose of generating profit. As such, the related term commercialized can be used in a negative fashion, implying that someone or something has been despoiled by commercial or monetary interests. The only difference between communism and commercialism is that one governing body has as a dictatorship and the other has CEOs. If you ask me Communism would be the better choice at least in communism trickle down economics works somewhat. In commercialism they have to at least try to open the faucet for trickle down economics to work. If the faucet is never opened nothing trickles down. Nothing changes and nothing gets done. Which is exactly the situation we our in today “nothing trickling down”. Yet, the Republican Party still keeps pushing for trickle down economics. Im not advocating either. Im just tired of watching are democracy fade away with thunderous applause in favor of commercialism. “Profit over people” that corporations are our friends and the government is looking out for good interest. When theyre actually in bed together. Our forefathers would be appalled to see that only after 250 years since this great nation was forged it would be leaning towards fascism. Which is the reason why our forefathers left England to form a new nation free of a fascist leadership and the tyrannical empire. Braving their way in order to form a better nation, a nation free of tyranny and oppression and equal opportunity for all a nation called “The United States of America”. Not a nation where opportunity is only for the aristocracy. The top 1% would lead you to believe that they built this Country. In fact if I recall my history correctly, this country was built with blood and sweat on the backs of a hard-working American Labor force. The rich might flipped the bill at first, but later pawned the bill off on to the American taxpayer. Therfore, the top 1% didnt really pay for anything however they get all the tax breaks. This country was forged by hard-working American taxpayer and the American workforce. If it wasnt for the American workforce this country never would have become the great nation that it is today. Union labor especially should be accredited for making America a powerhouse in early 1900s. Even in World War II it was the Unions and the American labor force that stepped up to the plate working round-the-clock to produce planes, tanks, guns and ammunition. As well as rationed food, fuel, metal, and rubber to provide for their Brothers in arms fighting overseas. It wasnt the aristocracy, needless to say it wasnt their sons going off to war. It was the poor and the downtrodden the average working class American. Unfortunately, today we seem to be forsaking the right provided by those who preceded us. Forgetting about the perilous journey this country took to provide us these rights and where we came from. Not to forget the men, women and children who gave their lives so we may enjoy these rights provided to us today. I dont and no one else should either. It seems to me as if we are in a new Gilded Age of gluttony. Where people no longer matter and profit is the only concern. The 1% er believe that the American workforce is spoiled, lazy and noncompliant. That Americans are good enough to buy their products, but were not good enough to manufacture them. Tried to feed us the illusion that if we buy their foreign-made products it will all make our lives peaches and cream. The fact is the aristocracys plan is really to bankrupting Americas. In order to form a two class society the haves and the have-nots, basically the feudal system. Therefore, destroying the middle class and essentially gutting workers rights and collective bargaining. Its a very old tactic called “divide and conquer”. Americans need to wake up and realize we are no longer the number one nation. Therefore, we should stop acting like it. Americans need to start showing it by stepping up to the plate and proving that we are the greatest nation on planet Earth. To show that our predecessors were correct in conveying the message. United We Stand and not to exhibit division that could cause this great nation to fall. “All for one and one for all”. Its time we make our voices heard my Union Brothers and Sisters and stop the attack on the American workforce. Not just for us and our childrens futures, but also for those Americans who fought to bring us the eight hour workday, the five-day work week and the right to collective bargaining, not to mention Labor Day. To show that all their efforts were not in vain. Which now is all being threatened by the tyranny of evil men such as the Coke brothers, Mitt Romney & Paul Ryan. A long with the corporate greed of companies like Papa Johns, General Electric and Walmart. Its time to stand up and take back this country and restore the concept of “We the People”. The freedom to work act is looming at our back door its right to work rearing its ugly head once again in the state of Missouri. Renamed to confuse and manipulate the average voter. Playing on the fact that freedom is good, when the truth is that this freedom actually limits your freedom in favor of commercialism. Its time to set a precedent that we the working class of America in the state of Missouri will no longer tolerate the blatant attack against the American work force. That we will rally together to throw off the shackles of oppression. That we will not be bullied by political rhetoric and embrace each other an stand as one strong united labor force. That time is NOW!! On March 26 at the state capital in Jefferson City Missouri there will be a Labor Rally to protest Right to Work, and /or The Freedom to Work Act. Its time for Americans to put down the shinny bobbles. Time to stop playing angry birds and candy crush for a minute and do something productive that matters for once in your lives. I put it to you my Union Brothers and Sisters are we get a take this lying down or we can stand up and fight. We must have a large Union representation in Jefferson City or all our efforts will be for nothing. If not then everyone better get used to working for minimum wage. Union Labor needs every man, woman, and child more than ever today in support of the American workforce. In order to establish a promising future free of tyranny and oppression for our children and grandchildren. I hope to see a large Union turnout on March 26 and especially a large con tangency of my own local. Sincerely, Sean OConnor a proud union member of Sprinkler fitter local 268 in St. Louis Missouri
