To attatch this type of hair extensions, small sections of your own hair are gently pulled through small plastic shrink tubes also known as “Shrinkies”. Pre Bonded Hair Extensions strands are then placed inside these tubes. Heat is applied to the shrink tubes causing them to shrink around both your own hair and the hair extensions, holding the extension hair in place. The aim is to heat seal the hair extensions into position rather than glue them. Shrink Tubes or “Shrinkies” come in a variety of colours and will be chosen to blend in with your hair extensions. Shrink Tube Hair Extensions or “Shrinkies” Hair Extensions can be applied in one solid colour or multiple colours can be applied in combination to create highlights and lowlights as well as fashionable colour flashes. More practical and longer lasting than Clip-in Hair Extensions, each fitting of Shrink Tube Hair Extensions should last around 3 months with correct care and regular maintenance. (N.B – As the heat from this method has a small chance of melting a little of the bond used to hold the extension strand together, it is not suitable for clients who definitely don’t want glue based hair extensions).
