To begin - Please, Im not asking for sympathy or condolences, rather I have a bit of a dilemma and figure this group would understand more than most. My lovely wife of nearly 28 years has had problems for the past 7 years or so with her left kidney draining due to a fragment of a kidney stone that had stuck in her ureter when trying to pass. Several procedures to remove the fragment and repair the ureter wall resulted in a large amount of scar tissue, which resulted in a stricture developing which drastically reduced the size of the ureter, making it difficult for fluids to pass from the kidney to the bladder. In an attempt to open the ureter, shes had procedures done in the Vascular and Interventional Radiology departments at multiple hospitals in Providence, RI. My dilemma ... Every time she says she has another appointment at VIR, is it wrong for me to put her discomforts and problems aside for those briefest of moments while I think to myself, Were going to Virgina International Raceway!?
