To celebrate David Williams birthday we went to an amazing concert - TopicsExpress

To celebrate David Williams birthday we went to an amazing concert on Tuesday night (and also to our favorite restaurant, Barca Art cafe, for supper beforehand). The concert was the American act The Wiyos (western swing with a twist), and one of our favorite local bands, Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra. In this video they play together-they did a couple of songs together before the show had to end due to noise curfew (bah humbug!). We came away with 4 Wiyos CDs and many wonderful memories. I was amazed to learn that the bassist for the Wiyos, Sauerkraut Steve, went to the SAME high school I did (Waldorf School in Garden City, New York) AND had the same music teacher (the very kind George Rose, who gave me private singing lessons so I could sing in a production of Gilbert and Sullivans Ruddigore in my junior year), AND we both sang as juniors in Ruddigore by Gilbert and Sullivan. Talk about six degrees of separation!!!
