To close out the decade, McCartney made a series of high-profile concert appearances, starting with a performance of I Saw Her Standing There at the 51st Annual Grammys with Foo Fighters drummer Dave Grohl sitting in on drums. In early April 2009, McCartney and his Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr reunited onstage at a transcendental meditation benefit curated by director David Lynch at New Yorks Radio City Music Hall, and just days later, McCartney was recruited to headline the opening night of the Coachella Music Festival in Indio, California in 2009. Fittingly, when the Mets new home Citi Field was opened in 2009, McCartney helped christen that stadium with a series of shows in July 2009 (Billy Joel returned McCartneys Shea favor by appearing at the opening Citi show.) The concerts were preceded by a noteworthy McCartney performance on The Late Show with David Letterman, with McCartney and band staging a surprise performance on the marquee of the Ed Sullivan Theatre in New York. Both performances were documented in the CD/DVD Good Evening, New York City (Number 16.) It was also an especially active year for Beatles fans as well, as the Fab Fours entire discography was finally remastered and reissued on compact disc on September 9th, 2009. A video game starring digital avatars of the Beatles and boasting the groups music, The Beatles: Rock Band, was also released the same day as the album reissues. As a testament of McCartney and his former bandmates enduring and unimpeachable impact on music history, nearly 40 years after the Beatles dissolved, the Fab Four ended the first decade of the millennium by having the 2000s best-selling album, the greatest hits collection 1.
