To continue with yesterdays conversation about crime and keeping your eyes open, I would like to share a personal story: Spring 2007, Saturday 8:00 AM. I was looking out the window and noticed a man peering into the window of a car parked in front of my house. At first, I thought it was his car and he left something inside and was looking for it. Then he walked to the next car on the street and did the same thing. A car drove down the road and he pretended he wasnt looking inside. At this point, I thought he was acting suspiciously. That is when I called the non-emergency police number to report someone behaving suspiciously. As I was on the phone with the dispatcher answering questions regarding location, description of his activities, his attire, etc., police were sent, but remained out of sight. The suspect broke into a car several houses down from where I live. The instant he breached the car, he was swarmed by police. He ran and was apprehended in the back yard of a home on my block. You, and WE, can make a difference.
