To counter a lot of the Christmas negativity I wanted to put up a positive story. I had to go down to Sandy Crest on Christmas morning, horrible back spasms ( this is what happens when you ignore a broken rib for 2 weeks apparently) and I was in a lot of pain, had been up half the night. After visits to A&E and FMH over the years I was braced for long waits, surly staff and exorbitant fees and I was delighted to find the exact opposite! From the initial telephone call through to paying my bill at the end, the staff were fantastic, customer service was incredible ( imagine them letting you know waiting times and checking back to make sure you are ok before the doctor came in to see you) I had a full checkup, kidney analysis, chest x rays, pain killer shots and was out in less than 2 hrs. The staff were warm and friendly and I got to see how efficiently they handled a serious case of a cruise ship passenger who overdosed on one of the liners. The best part was, the xray that would normally have cost me $230 cost half that and they swipe your insurance card so my doctor bill was $29. Fantastic place, I think all doctors on this island should go up there for some customer service training.
