This is the second game of a four-game road trip that started in Binghamton on December 21 and continues at Saint Peter’s January 2 and at Manhattan January 4. Rider (3-8) is led by sophomore Robin Perkins who is averaging 11.9 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. Most returns during the holidays aren’t good; however the Broncs are expecting a belated holiday gift with the expected return of leading rebounder, sophomore Julia Duggan who has been out since suffering a concussion at Penn State on December 14. Duggan is averaging 8.9 points and 8.4 rebounds per contest and had started all nine games before her injury. Junior Emily Fazzini looks to be back on track and is averaging 8.8 points per game. Fazzini opened the season 5-37 (.135) from three-point range before making nine of her last 23 from long range (.391). Fazzini is averaging 15.3 points and over 29 minutes per contest in her last three games while shooting almost 43 percent from the field. The Broncs have also been sparked by the recent play of senior Marritta Gillcrease who is averaging 13.0 rebounds per game in her last three contests, including a 20 rebound effort in Rider’s 67-55 win over Maryland Baltimore County on December 18. Former East Coast Conference rivals, Rider and Delaware (4-6) met last season on November 24, 2013 when the Blue Hens scored a 65-54 win in Alumni Gymnasium. The teams last met in Newark, Delaware on February 9, 1991, at what was then the Delaware Field House. Current Bronc head coach Lynn (Donovan) Milligan was a junior at Rider, when the Broncs won that game 69-64. Delaware leads the all-time series 15-5. Monday night’s game can be heard live on 107.7 FM The Bronc and on-line at 1077thebronc and GoBroncs with Jeff Nolan and Dick Wiseman bringing you all the action. -RU- Click here to view as a web page.
