To have more empowering goals – look within. What resonates with you, your desires and aspirations? If it’s truly meaningful to you, you will less look out for motivation from external sources, the motivation will come from within. When I see all these resolutions being set, goals announced, promises made etc. this quote comes to mind. Instead of doing something just to reach your resolution or goal...look deeper and ask yourself if that resolution/goal really fills you with happiness. Last year I set goals for myself and didnt reach any of them. While I was busy being depressed about how I failed at so much, my yoga practice advanced in ways I couldnt imagine. When I opened my eyes to the good, I had to come to grips with the direction my life was leading me, instead of where I thought it should go. Now did I throw those old goals out the window? Nope!! Because I know that when I am able to organically reach those goals it will not be because my ego wants it, it will be because they will be beneficial (not depressing) to myself and many others.
