To mark the 15th anniversary of the broadcast of STATES OF FEAR, the Mary Raftery Journalism Fund in association with the IFI and RTÉ presents a day of screenings and discussions on May 24th: ifi.ie/statesoffear STATES OF FEAR is the RTÉ series which forced the Government to apologise and changed a society’s view of itself forever. Produced by prolific journalist Mary Raftery and first transmitted in 1999, it lifted the lid on the horrors of Ireland’s industrial schools through testimony from those who spent their childhoods in these religious-run institutions.
