To most Nigerians, everything is about fight, contest, - TopicsExpress

To most Nigerians, everything is about fight, contest, disagreement, winning, loosing, shaming, beating, defeating, booing, embarrassing, etc. And then, Sanusi’s emergence as the new emir of kano has become a contest and triumph of Sanusi over GEJ. For the avoidance of doubt, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi was in line to the throne. He was a prince. He said it in the presence of the late emir. He had it as ambition. Now he has become it. But in our own characteristics, many Facebook Nigerians are making it look like it is a miracle or a design to kill GEJ in Kano. These people are even saying GEJ must now go to Kano and bow to SLS. May be he will do that. I dont know. But what I know is that in Nigeria, no Emir, Eze or Oba is bigger than their governors let alone presidents. May I remind those who became overnight Nigerian thinkers because of Facebook that in the 90s, Sanni Abacha deposed former Sultan of Sokoto, Ibrahim Dasuki and recently, Segun Mimiko deposed Deji of Akure and installed a new king. In those instances, heaven did not fall. SLS can be removed the same way too. Although it might not happen. What I think is both Emir and President should show mutual respect because at no time will an emir be bigger or greater than a Nigerian president. While no emir will remove a sitting president, a president can remove and banish any arrogant emir like Dasuki! Everybody knows the limit of his/her power!
