To my Brothers and Sisters in Blue, I am sorry. I sit here broken - TopicsExpress

To my Brothers and Sisters in Blue, I am sorry. I sit here broken hearted as the news stories come out daily of our Brethren being killed so senselessly. Ive always known it to be Truth that we put on the uniform and with it a target was painted on our back. I kissed my wife and children goodbye for twelve years, wondering if it would be the last time I saw them. I knew there were those that hate everything we stand for. Politicians that detest how much of the budget goes to Public Safety instead of towards lining the pockets of their constituents along with their own. The boogeymen of most ordinary peoples nightmares that you keep at bay. I didnt go into the Life to risk my life for those people, but I would have laid it down to protect them. I did go into the Brotherhood to protect the weak, help the downtrodden, and to keep society civil. With open eyes I saw dark Blue and light Blue Officers working together in every possible scenario, as One nation. When the uniform came off, there were Blue brothers and sisters I did not personally like, but I loved and respected. The same brothers and sisters I may not have cared for whos home I would rush to in order to help with whatever need they may have had. My heart is heavy as our society, who thinks they are so Enlightened, are criminalizing our Brotherhood with no clue that our honor code is what they want society to live by. The reality is that the OVERWHELMING majority of upstanding citizens could care less if the persons skin standing next to them is different from their own. The truth is that the vast majority of our society is willing to help Anyone in need. The Media, the NEA, the race baiters (on both sides) and Politicians are doing their damndest to inflame the unlearned, the ignorant minor sections of our society to Hate and despise you. I AM SORRY that I am not actively a part of your Brotherhood to be with you in this struggle from the inside at this hour of need. I can no longer sit idly by and watch these folks attempt to destroy your noble profession and our society in general. I will do everything I can, as one person, to turn the tide on the story being presented as reality. I love, respect, and appreciate all of my Brothers and Sisters in Blue that live your lives so selflessly. I despise those very few wearing the uniform that are the main characters being described in this made for TV miniseries that is spinning out of control. The reality of your profession and life needs to be shown. Not the political correct version, not the watered down for prime time version, and certainly not the fictional version being played out in todays evening news. Hold true, stay the course, and watch each others six. You are needed more now than ever to shine the true Blue. May God be with you and yours through every minute of every shift, and please know that you are loved and cherished. Even when everything you see, hear and read may say differently, you matter. You are the true backbone of our civil society. Please accept my apologies for this being so jumbled, my raw thoughts just needed to be penned.
