To my dancers West Coast Dance Theatre/Kid Power. Its important to know what came before you. These are some of the most working choreographers in TV. Television had what we call Variety Shows....back in the day when television hired dancers and we had a weekly paycheck.........pre video days. When the variety shows went away and videos became more popular...... unfortunately, doing videos did not monetarily replace what we earned as a dancer on t.v. and certainly did not replace the consistency of a paycheck. You dont get to see paid dancers working on tv each week except on DWTS and award shows when they seasonally come around. And of course you do get to see dancers that compete on various contest and reality shows. Much different industry when you start comparing the number of shows that employed dancers then and now. Joe Tremaine was a June Taylor dancer. Lezlie Mogell was an Anita Mann dancer. Look at the difference in style....pre hip hop. Much more ballet, tap, jazz based. Then when Michael Peters came into view working with MJ....the style became more funky and a transition to hip-hop started evolving. I know its difficult for you children to believe something existed before hip-hop. But yes it did and these choreographers and dancers brought it to life each and every week.
