To my dear Mum friends, youre human, Im human, we have an amazing but sometimes overwhelmingly large job...Please dont ever be afraid to reach out for help. We need a village of support to raise our children. Weve become so insular, so publicly I can do this, look how together I am. But if your walls are crumbling, if you are not coping...Please speak out. If those closest tell you Youll be right remember that they too have been told that its not okay to show weakness and seek help elsewhere instead. For the sake of your children. Im here, even if were not close...and there are many other Mums and people like me who would support you and help you find help. To raise our children we need to be our best, if we dont look after ourselves....everyone suffers. Like this family, such a tragic yet common story. My heart breaks for this mother, for this father and for these children. These things are avoidable, dont let yourself get so desperate. And if you see a friend who is struggling dont wait for them to find the courage to ask for help, they may never get to a place they can admit they need it, instead offer it. Insist even, raise each other up. Love to all the parents out there doing their best xx He says while all parents make sacrifices, mums give the most. Their burden is relentless, demanding and so personal — from pregnancy to giving birth to around-the-clock breastfeeding. “You’d give to your kid without a second thought, but would you tell anyone you don’t have enough to provide for your child? Not a hope in hell,” Chris says. “If you feel you might hurt your baby, the safest thing is to put the baby in a safe spot and go and get help,” she says. “Even if you drive to hospital, no one is going to be judgmental. Don’t be afraid to cry for help and keep crying for help.”
