To my fellow veterans: Today is YOUR day. Mahalo for your service. Across the country, and around the world, Veterans Day is a time when the American people take the opportunity to honor those whove served in the past, and thank those who are still serving. Whether they are serving in Pahoa, supporting a community being threatened by lava, or serving in harms way overseas, our nation has been kept safe by the courageous actions of a very few, whose selfless service, vigilance, and loyalty epitomize what it means to be an American. To my brothers and sisters in service: Im proud to serve shoulder to shoulder with you, and I join a grateful nation in paying homage to your sacrifice. Mahalo.
