October Scares Week 4: Villain Songs Day 24: Big and Loud from Cats Dont Dance Dang it this movie is cool! It has fantastic animation, great songs, interesting characters, and a pretty good story. It is also SEVERELY underrated. If you havent seen it yet, check it out. :) Now onto the song and the villain of the piece; Darla Dimple. Oh how this kid is a scary mix of Shirley Temple and Angelica from Rugrats (see The Media Hunters review of this movie for where I got this quote). Shes known for loving children and animals but in reality she HATES animals and is probably not nice to others kids when its not for keeping her image up. Shes also very demanding and uses her cutesy image to get what she wants along with her terrible temper showing just how much power she has in Hollywood. Why do I get the feeling she and Lil Gideon would get along swimmingly? Anyway, the song starts when shes singing to Danny the Cat about how if hes gonna perform for the head of the studio, hes gotta make the performance big and loud. Its a really catchy tune that gets Dannys attention and he rushes off to tell his friends theyve got the resources. After Darla confirms the studio head is doing a press conference the same time as theyre rehearsing, she lets out an evil laugh and continues the song with a more...malicious intent. As the song goes she gets more and more crazy and it ends with her hair curlers shocking her hair and ending on a very creepy glare. This is a great song and I think both parts count as villainous since shes manipulating Danny into taking her advice and then in the second half she reveals her intentions of making the poor animal actors lives a living nightmare. https://youtube/watch?v=pB0n7KTyEdI
