To my wonderful daughter, Brianna, on her 17th birthday. I dont get a chance to open up and share my heart with my daughters as much as I would like to. For I love them all so very much, and want them all to know just how much I love them, and how proud I am of them. But since this is my daughter Briannas birthday today, I am going to focus on her. Brianna, I wanted to write you a poem for your birthday because I wanted to give you something really special and personal for your birthday in order to let you know just how thankful I am to have you for a daughter, how special you are to me, and how much you mean to me. I spent many hours working on this for you, but I just didnt have enough time to get it to come together correctly in time for your birthday. I hope you can excuse its many shortcomings. It is 3 A.M. now, its your birthday, and Im getting exhausted. Forgive me for its short comings, but I really wanted to give you something special and personal, and this is as good as it is going to get for now. My Angel Princess I know a young lady who is both an angel and a princess to me. She has no idea how much happiness and joy she truly brings to me. The admiration and respect that I hold toward her. Cannot be measured but only treasured. She brightens up my days with her smiles, giggles, and laughs. She makes you wish every moment would last. Her face is so perfect so sweet, soft, and pure. She is quiet, reserved, modest, and shy. The very things that God says are so precious in His sight (1 Peter 3:4). are the very things that make her such a delight. She tries her very hardest to please and do whats right. She never offends, nor brings one down. She has nothing but love from morning until night. When she opens her mouth she shares only wisdom and love, The teaching of kindness is always on her tongue. She has taught me so much on the true meaning of love. You will always see Jesus when you see her for she oozes compassion, mercy, and grace. She lights up a room when she walks in. Darkness and sadness have no choice but to flee. The countenance on her face shines like the sun as she brings joy to all with a sweetness that wont fade or run. Shes helpful and considerate to everyone she knows Her light shines brighter and brighter as my angel princess grows. And as she grows I hope I will always be blessed to have her as my closest friend. She is one of the reasons that I will always try to be my best. For my little angel princess deserves the best and is why I want to be my best. When God entrusts to you an angel like this, make sure you give to her all of your love. Never neglect nor forget to tell her nor her special way. Protect her heart, and teach her well. And always remember that He trusts you with her care. Be sure to make time for this angel with special moments with her to share. For in this I never want to fail. When at night I say my prayers, I always thank my God for her. I need her to know that even though I fail, that I always pray to be a perfect dad to her. I try my best, but again I fail. But my desire and prayer is to never disappoint nor bring her down, I ask the Father that He will always keep a special watchful eye and hand on her to protect her from this world. Dear Father, protect my little angel princess; who brings be nothing but joy. Like your Son, my daughter in whom I am so well pleased. I love you, Brianna, and I am so thankful that God has blessed me to be your dad. What a very special honor and blessing that my Father in Heaven has bestowed upon me and has allowed me to call you my daughter.
