To push back against criticism of President Obamas latte salute, - TopicsExpress

To push back against criticism of President Obamas latte salute, his defenders are circulating a picture of President Bush rendering a salute while holding his dog. Friends... its not Obamas salute (alone) that was so upsetting to people who have served, have children who serve or have generations of military tradition within their family. The latte salute is a culmination, of sorts... a culmination of clues (if you will) as to how he feels towards us, and people like us. (Sort of like when a white police officer uses the N-word, as opposed to when an African American uses the word, among friends.) President Bush admired servicemen & women and made no bones about it. It wasnt insulting when President Bush, being a civilian, made a boo-boo when rendering a salute, because (love him or hate him) we knew where he stood when it pertained to the military. And... he didnt have to say it. Anyone with a shred of ability to perceive and understand human emotion could see it on President Bush. He wore it, without shame, on his face. (See video.) President Obama? One just doesnt know how he really feels. Does he think soldiers are mere pawns at his disposal? Does he think a U.S. Marine is simply a blunt tool that has no place in his Ivy League box full of scalpels and probes? The latte salute is forgivable. Hes a civilian whos never served. He may not have a full understanding of what rendering a proper salute means between soldiers & officers. The problem is... after all this time as Commander in Chief... he doesnt seem to have cared to know. On the other hand... WE knew that BUSH knew. We knew that Bush gave a ...hoot... about veterans and soldiers. https://youtube/watch?v=SrBI-CaiSKM
