To say I am in shock is an understatement! Arrived in Athens for literature conference around 4pm and checked my messages shortly thereafter...and learned that another amazing cousin...this one on Moms side...passed away last night. Carol Rooks Johnson was a family treasure who helped so much on the Todd/Joiner/Rooks connections. Photo was a few years ago at a special meeting in Alabama at the home of one of my grandmothers nieces. Carol found the nieces and set up a meeting. My grandmother never met her nieces and this was an amazing and heartfelt reunion. Carol on left with cousin Ricky Todd, my mother and myself.
