To the 10,001 Miamians and loyal supporters, One year ago, over 200 Pets’ Trust supporters went to the Miami Dade County Board of Commission budget meeting to fight for the Pets’ Trust. Look at some of these photos as a reminder of that day. It was incredible, and so many of us made very compelling speeches...that unfortunately fell on deaf ears. Now, one year later.... this Tuesday...July 15th at 9:30....we have the same fight again. at the Stephen P. Clark Government Center 111 NW 1st Street This is the meeting where the commissioners either leave the millage flat (as they did last year dooming the will of the people) or offer the opportunity to increase the rate. We can use your help again. Please join us and present your voice for our animals. Share your personal stories of the past year and let these commissioners know that we should have been celebrating the 100,000th spay neuter surgery. We should have been on our way to decreasing the overpopulation problem, creating adoption centers, expanding animal education into the schools, creating grants for rescue groups....instead.....we’ve seen other band-aid approaches. The community graciously voted to fund the solution, which our leaders rejected. THEY HOPE WE HAVE GIVEN UP!!! THEY BELIEVE WE ARE TIRED AND DONE! THEY HOPE WE FORGET!!! The library people hope to have hundreds of supporters fighting for their very worthy cause. Our animals hope the same for them. See you Tuesday.
